Who are the clinicians?
This clinic is part of a student apprenticeship program. You will be seen by one or two of our student clinicians. All student clinicians have completed formal training in herbalism and go through a screening process to be part of clinic. We have two clinical advisors who will be reviewing your case and all herbal preparations.
What do I do if I have an unwanted reaction?
If you have an unwanted reaction to any of the herbs you are taking, stop taking them immediately and contact your student clinicians.
How long does it take for herbs to work or to see a result?
It depends. Sometimes you will see immediate results and sometimes it takes a longer time for herbs to have an impact. In general, herbs work long and slow, so plan to be patient. The more chronic an imbalance in the body, generally the longer it takes to shift.
What should I expect for my initial intake appointment?
Please put aside 1.5 hours for your first appointment. We do a thorough intake with each client, and generally need this much time to get through all our questions so we can provide you with the very best care. You will be meeting with 1-2 student clinicians on Google Meet for your appointment.
How frequently are follow-up appointments scheduled?
It’s ideal to see people every 4-6 weeks so we can monitor your progress and adjust your formulas and plan of care appropriately.
How long will I be seeing an herbalist?
Our student clinicians are typically with clinic for 1 year (from January through December). Depending on when you start clinic, and how well clinic fits your needs, you could see your herbalist for anywhere from 2-11 months. Clients are welcome to continue clinic in the following year with a new set of student clinicians. In this case. another intake is necessary to get your new clinicians up to date.
How will I receive my herbs?
You can either pick them up at our shop in Petaluma, CA or we can ship them to you.
What should I expect after my first appointment?
After the first appointment, you will receive an email from your clinician outlining your recommended plan, which will include herbal recommendations and lifestyle suggestions. From there we will either mail you your herbs or you can pick them up at our shop in Petaluma. You will see your clinicians for a follow-up appointment 5-6 weeks after your first appointment.
How are the follow-up appointments scheduled?
You will be scheduling follow-up appointments during your session. If you need to reschedule, please email your clinician.
