Maureen Boland
Clinic Teaching Assistant & Instructor

Maureen Boland, MPH (she/her) was born in San Francisco, raised in the Midwest and now calls Fairfax, California her home. She comes to western clinical herbalism with a client-centered and compassionate approach to care informed by 20+ years of community health work, serving disenfranchised populations and specializing in women's health. After exploring herbal medicine for over a decade Maureen completed Gathering Thyme’s clinical program. She currently is an instructor for Gathering Thyme’s school and the teaching assistant for the community herb clinic.
Maureen is inspired by the power of plants and inspired by their ability to bring us back into balance. She believes we all need a gentle lift and push to thrive in this world and enjoys partnering with people on their healing path
Maureen has a keen interest in women’s/AFAB/queer health, the musculoskeletal system & mental health but loves exploring all aspects of the human body. In her free time, Maureen is part of a medicinal garden cooperative, loves climbing rocks, exploring the wildness of Marin and connecting into the powerful healing force of the earth.
Maureen is a medicine maker and clinical herbalist with her own practice, Mt. Tam Herbals, where she welcomes clients of all backgrounds. With a deep commitment to comprehensive and accessible healthcare, Maureen is thrilled to be a part of Gathering Thyme's herbal clinic and faculty.
