Come and steep yourself in the magic and medicine of honey. You will learn about ancient uses for honey and why honey is such a powerful healing tool to add to your medicine cabinet. We will be making & tasting three distinct methods of utilizing honey. You will bring home elderberry syrup, a medicinal oxymel and an infused honey, all made with local raw honey. Join us and find out why this sweet bee medicine has been used since the beginning of recorded human history.
Class is Nov 9, 11am-3:30pm at Gathering Thyme in Petaluma with a 30 min lunch break
Maureen Boland, MPH (she/her) and her family tend to beehives and love sharing the bees' delicious honey with their community. Maureen has been exploring herbal medicine and the plant world for over a decade. She completed Gathering Thyme’s clinical program and serves as the clinical teaching assistant for Gathering Thyme's Community Herbal Clinic. She also runs her own practice, Mt. Tam Herbals, where she partners with people to guide them on their healing journey. She has a deep love of herbal medicine and is captivated by the power of plants to bring us back into balance.
